It seems like the "polar vortex" is still wreaking havoc in San Diego! The San Diegans are in shock that their winter weather is being ruined by the heat. We're now forced to make sandmen instead of snowmen. Boo. Hoo. Feeling inspired and in a sunny disposition, the Experience San Diego team has decided to explore the Gaslamp Quarter during the day, making it into a mini-San Diego "staycation". We will be staying at the Horton Grand Hotel while exploring the history of the Gaslamp Quarter at the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum and The Gaslamp Museum at the William Heath Davis House, and enjoying the evening with laughter at the Horton Grand Theatre, which is showing The 39 Steps

The San Diego community never ceases its artistic combustion of music and cultural arts! It was a balmy 75-degree day this San Diego winter(sarcasm), and a group of friends wanted to start off their long-weekend with artistic mental stimulation. We were driving around San Diego one afternoon and saw an Old Town Trolley pass by and we realized that we've never actually been on the Old Town Trolley Tour! We always see these green and orange trolleys zip by around town full of happy people, so we decided that in the upcoming weekend, we will be San Diego tourists for a day and ride the Old Town Trolley.

California Started in my Backyard - Presidio Park, Old Town

When driving west of the Kumeyaay Highway Interstate 8 (I-8), the Presidio Park sticks out like a sore thumb. It’s tucked away behind the hotels of Mission Valley and the windy streets to Old Town. I didn’t really know much about Presidio Park other than that it was nice to watch during the sunset from the tennis courts of my home in Mission Valley.
